For example, when you get an SMS from a brand like <em>DM-ABCDEF<\/em>, &#8220;ABCDEF&#8221; is the header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two types of headers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Promotional<\/strong> (for offers, ads \u2013 uses numbers)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Transactional\/Service<\/strong> (for OTPs, alerts \u2013 uses 6-letter words like your brand name)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This step is important because without an approved header, you won&#8217;t be able to send any SMS\u2014even if your entity is registered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use Case<\/strong> &#8211; A business named <strong>Star Retail<\/strong> wants to send SMS like order updates and offers. To show the sender name as <strong>&#8220;STARRT&#8221;<\/strong>, they must get it approved as a header. You\u2019ll need to fill in the following details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Header Type: <\/strong>Select either <strong>Promotional<\/strong> (for numeric sender IDs) or <strong>Others<\/strong> (for alphabetic sender IDs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Classification: <\/strong>Choose whether the header will be <strong>Temporary<\/strong> or <strong>Permanent<\/strong>. If <strong>Temporary<\/strong> is selected, you must also set the validity period (15\/30\/45\/60 days).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Category: <\/strong>Select the appropriate business category from the dropdown list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Header Name: <\/strong>Enter a relevant header name for your business (e.g., HDFCBK or HDFC Bank). Click <strong>&#8220;Choose File&#8221;<\/strong> to attach the document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 8: <\/strong>If you want to add only one header, click on <strong>Submit<\/strong>, then click on <strong>Get OTP <\/strong>button. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email ID. Enter the OTP to proceed.
